Roof leaking? Burst pipe? No AC? — Emergency help starts here
STAN · Solar Energy

Solar, without the sales circus.

Most folks land here for one reason: the power bill keeps climbing. Some want backup power for outages, an EV in the garage, or just cleaner energy. Whatever is pulling you, here’s my deal — give me the basics on your roof and your bill, and I bring in a straight-shooting solar consultant. No pushy pitch. And if the numbers don’t work for your house, that’s a fine answer to hear.

Evidence first

Photos are optional — but they’re the difference between a pro who arrives briefed and one who starts from zero.

Roof, bill, panel — the sizing trio

A photo of the roof from the street shows orientation and shade. Your power bill (even just the monthly kWh number) shows how much system you actually need. A shot of the electrical panel tells the consultant what the house can take. Three photos, and the sizing conversation starts real instead of hypothetical.

How this lane works

Tell me what’s drawing you

Bill, backup, environment, EV, or home value — plus ownership, funding lean, and timeline. Sixty seconds, no commitment.

I brief the consultant

Your motivation, roof photos, bill ballpark, and panel shot go on the call sheet. The consultant preps a real conversation, not a canned pitch.

A numbers talk, not a close

The callback lands in your window and walks your actual roof and usage. “Let me think about it” ends the call politely — every time.

Handy to have ready

None of it is required — but each one makes the Solar callback sharper.

  • A rough monthly power bill figure, or a recent bill
  • Whether you own the home — the roof decision belongs to the owner
  • Roughly how old the roof is, if you know
  • How you’d lean on funding it — cash, loan, lease, or genuinely not sure

Straight answers

The questions folks actually ask about the Solar lane.

Will anyone pressure me?

No. That’s the standing rule of this lane and the reason it exists — solar has earned its reputation for high-pressure closes, and we run the opposite play. You’ll get numbers for your house and your bill. “Just researching” and “no” are both respected answers.

I rent. Is this worth my time?

Straight answer: the roof decision belongs to the property owner, so a consultant can’t put panels up for you. If you’re gathering information for a landlord or a future purchase, the research lane is open — just know that’s what it is.

Do I really need my power bill?

Need? No. Help? Enormously. System sizing is driven by what you actually use, and the kWh line on one bill beats any guess. Even a phone photo of it does the job.

Is my roof too old for panels?

Maybe — and it’s better to know before, not after. If a roof is near end-of-life, an honest consultant will say the roof comes first. Note the roof’s rough age in your answers and it gets addressed on the first call instead of surfacing as a surprise.
